Just wondering, partially because I want to know what I should try to incorporate more into my own music and partially because I'm just curious.

I love hearing the solos more than anything, but a good rhythem guitar track is also good in a song.  So yeah, crunchy riffs and licks are good too.

Ala pink floyd here. When you can use a Guitar to make a sound that conveys an emotion, it's a whole 'nother level

the solo is like the guitarist using the force. he forces you to put your hands in air guitar position and mash that oxygen axe, baby!

Harmonics, but you got to love when people like Robert Fripp can literally shred melodies without it sounding like your typical rock guitar solo. I've always liked acoustic better then electric too.

same. im not sure why, with me. theres times when hard rock just doesnt do it for me, whereas something smooth and rhythmic is just an all-round time thing. always played, always loved.

wow that last sentence made the minimal sense. :D

Well, the acoustic is always better for ballads and such. It definitely has the "organic" feel to it, which is preferable a lot of the time. Actually, if you listen to a lot of songs closely, you'll notice an acoustic guitar buried under the mix.

Definatly crunchy riffs and licks.. hell a decent riff on its own without much supporting it can make a pretty damn good song.. e.g. gay bar

Second choice would be the solo .... shows off skills and creative talents

p.s. ive always wanted an acoustic guitar, never got round to buying 1 tho...  :P
