ok thanx. I am trying to make a sig. size: width 450px, height: 150px.

I'm new to this thing so i'm probably gonna ask lots of questions.

1.How do i get a background on my sig?
2.What is the eyedropper tool?

Thankyou for now. I just can't understand the walkthroughs.

First off, the eyedropper tool is a colour selector. I use that alot when blending images, and trying to keep the same colour. Lets say for example, I wanted to make a Toronto maple leafs signature with my name on it, and my name to be the exact colour of the maple leaf. Just use the eye dropper, and bam! You have the exact colour.

As for backgrounds, are you just inserting a picture or wanting to make one?

If your just puting a picture for the background, simply make it the first layer. Then all the other layers will go over top. The layers work like cutting and pasting pictures onto a peice of paper really.

I'm not very familier with swatches myself, but the styles can be a very useful tool. The blue wavy background in the basement mini banner was made using a style. To apply one to a layer, the layer has to have something in it. I'm assuming your going for a background, so just use the paint bucket and fill the background (any colour will do) and then apply the style. Same goes for text layers. A Quick way to set-up special effects.
