I'm sure he was a great person. I just don't like to think our country could head in a similar direction that he led us toward during the Depression.

Obama is already shooting himself in the foot... the private sectors aren't really private anymore :smartass:

I don't think that stimulus package is going to work as well as he expected either. He's already finding out that being president isn't as glamorous as it was first made out to be.

I don't think the stimulus is going to do much either.
And I don't understand why the auto-companies CEOs got money...they fly in private jets.
They should've just spent the money on creating new jobs.

That's the aggravating part. A lot of people are refusing to realize the direness of the situation in the US, and not making any changes to their lifestyles accordingly. I don't know how many stories I've heard now of companies using bailout money to purchase jets, or pick up bailout money flying jets. Complete irresponsibility

I'm sure you also heard he tried to give a position to a non tax-paying gov't official... outrageous! Does he not realize what message he is sending to us Americans?

Mos of us are changing our lifestyles unlike those really, REALLY rich guys.
I barely go shopping anymore, I try not to shower too long, I turn off all the lights and electricity, I don't go out with friends anymore, etc. :(
I'm also supposed to go shopping with friends this saturday at hollywood, but I can't :sigh:

I have had to give up the best damn chicken wings in the world. Pretty much eating out in general is out of the question lately.

The thing is, in a situation like mine, my family are in debt by a lot. In the economic boom that was such before the recession we were getting screwed over. Everyone was living it large and had jobs but no one in my family did (except me). Bailiffs were-a-knocking and the like.
Now with the recession, everyone is getting screwed over, the debt people seem to have loosened the pressure and everyone is going down to our level and worse. We had nothing to lose, a lot of people lost everything and were kicked out of their homes. God bless council housing.

Oh...and I lost my job.

Sorry for you. I feel sorry for everyone...including my dad. He just signed this stupid contract yesterday with the bank...putting our house in danger, because of my college fee :(
