Beating the dead horse
«

I tried my best for almost 5 years now, but it's time to come to terms with the fact that my precious forum is dead. While I would love to point the finger at the community, it's not entirely their fault. Most of them showed up there as a result of another forum suddenly vanishing from the internet, and myself being a moderator there opened the doors to these refugees. Once TimeSpltters4.net came to be, those splitters fans more or less left, and rightfully so.
There are SO MANY graphics and art forums out there already that are far more established and well known that it's a really hard category to pry into and be successful. I do pride myself in the fact we lasted as long as we did, seeing many competitors rise and fade along our journey.
Once you realize that there is no community, and 80% of the topics and posts are coming from yourself, it's time to let it go. I've 'revived' the boards so many times only to watch them fade again, and I'm done with it. We had a good run, I had some fun times. I got to meet some great people who where very talented and creative, and that makes me smile. It's time to move on though, I have other things and projects in my life to focus on

So, are you going to close this place or just leave it? (Two posts in
a minute
two minutes, that must be a record of recent times.)

I'll keep the doors open and the lights on, but I'm not supporting this board int he hopes of reviving it anymore.

Noooooooooooooooo
I shoulda lurked less!
But admittedly, 5 years is a hell of a long time in internet terms. A lot of forums and such tend to fade away after a couple of years, so yeah it's certainly been a good run indeed. Suppose in a way the inactivity came after TS3 died down at which point we'd already talked everything to death. With TS4.net opening, everyone went there leaving us with a community to just talk about 'stuff'.
Maybe I should make an account on TS4.net now...

Oh sure, offer it to the guy that doesn't even have an account there. It's not like I'd make a good staff member or anything
...actually, I probably wouldn't.

I'm sure you know why he's offering it to him. Still I'm going to stick around, and I hope that people will come back so I don't have to talk to only (inh) for the rest of forever.

Guess, I should have read this yesterday. =)
Yeah, I can see it has died but that's not bad, this is still a great site, and there's a reason why I keep coming back. Sad to hear, but glad I'm always welcome in the Basement. Even if it's empty.
